Default Is this a good offensive Rit build?

I just recently started playing GW and I have a lvl 17 Rit/N. I'm aiming to be an offensive rit and I was wondering if my build was good. I have 12 communing, 0 restoration, 4 channeling, and 8 spawning power, no points in necro attributes. Here are my abilities:

Boon of Creation (10 mana, 2 sec cast, 45 sec cooldown.): Enchantment spell. For 39 seconds, whenever you create a creature, you gain 29 health and 4 energy. Attr: Spawning Power

Mighty Was Vorizun (5 mana, 2 sec cast, 30 sec cooldown): Item spell. Hold Vorizuns ashes for up to 51 seconds. While you hold his ashes you gain +15 armor and +30 maximum energy. Attr: Communing

Painful Bond (15 mana, 1 sec cast, 12 sec cooldown): Hex Spell. For 13 seconds target fooe and all nearby foes are hexed with painful bond and take 11 damage whenever hit by a spirits attack. Attr: Channeling Magic

Bloodsong (5 mana, 3 sec cast, 30 sec cooldown): Binding ritual. Create a level 3 spirit who dies after 62 seconds. Attacks by that spirit steal up to 10 health. Attr: Channeling Magic

Pain (5 mana, 3 sec cast, 30 sec cooldown): Binding ritual. Create a level 7 spirit. This spirits attacks deal 25 damage. This spirit dies after 126 seconds. Attr: Communing

Shadowsong (15 mana, 5 sec cast, 45 sec cooldown): Binding ritual. Create a level 5 Spirit. The spirits attacks cause blindness for 5 seconds. This spirit dies after 30 seconds. Attr: Communing

Dissonance (25 mana, 5 sec cast, 45 sec cooldown): Binding ritual. Create a level 7 spirit. This spirit deals 7 damage and anyone struck by its attack is interrupted. This spirit dies after 22 seconds. Attr: Communing

Resurrection Signet (3 sec cast): Resurrect target party member with full health and 25% energy. Recharges with morale boost. No attribute.

My strategy is to use Might was Vorizun and enchant myself with Boon of creation to keep myself alive. Then I summon my sprits in any order and let them attack the enemies while I run behind them and cast painful bond for extra damage. My hope is that my spirits abilities will hinder the enemy enough to allow my teamates to finish them off or kill them outrught. If I am attacked I try to escape by running behind my spirits and hope Boon of Creation and Mighty was Vorizun keep me alive long enough for my healer to heal me. I know the strategy needs work but I hope the builds good, . If you have any tips for me please post'em, and thanks for taking your time to read this!

I translated your bar for you in icons* (easier to read)

[skill]Boon of Creation[/skill][skill]Mighty Was Vorizun[/skill][skill]Painful Bond[/skill][skill]Bloodsong[/skill][skill]Pain[/skill][skill]Shadowsong[/skill][skill]Dissonance[/skill][skill]Resurrection Signet[/skill]

The better forum to post a question like this would be the Ritualist section in the campfire forum: http://www.guildwarsguru.com/forum/f...play.php?f=224

Here to your question:
First of all: Its a valid spirit spamming build and the extra armor of vorizun is nice. Good build so far...
My first Ritualist builds weren't that good

I would try to squeeze an Elite skill into that bar as well, depending on where you are in the game. I think the first one in Factions can be captured in the Vizunah Square mission.
[skill]Weapon of Quickening[/skill].
Not the best Elite but can help you to keep up the pace with a pve group that consist not only of henchman.

I personally change my early spirit builds to "less spirits more utility / damage" skills ... spirits slow you down a lot in the long run. A good skill to work around that "long casting slow spirits" can be found in the kurzick/luxon pve skills "Summon Spirits" but that comes much later in the game for you, as you need the first level of kurzick or luxon Allegiance ... still something to keep in mind. http://gw.gamewikis.org/wiki/Summon_Spirits

As for your res skill: Resurrection signet is a great skill in pvp, less in pve.
Consider bringing...
[skill]flesh of my flesh[/skill]
... since even with 0 in restoration it works as a great hard res (can be used multiple times - depending on your health).

Keep it up and enjoy your Ritualist!

Cheers,
Timebandit

Definitely use Flesh of My Flesh rather than Res Sig in PvE. I prefer to go channeling as a straight damage dealer. [skill]Spirit Burn[/skill][skill]Essence Strike[/skill] with [skill]Spirit Rift[/skill] for some AoE damage. Now that [skill]Bloodsong[/skill] is a channeling skill I use it a lot with this build.

Play around and see what works best for you. Have fun!

Your build looks very good for a beginner. Timebandit is right to say when you can, cap Weapon of Quickening, as it will make your binding rituals recharge faster, and is a good elite for the time being.

Keep in mind the Channeling ritualist is very powerful also, despite it's minor recent nerfs.

Just so you know, this forum has a special Ritualist section here. If you eant to post Ritualists builds for criticism you would probably get more responses here.
